Can anyone help me out with a new tiller please?

On another tack, I've lots of water coming up through the dagger board case on the plane, does this matter? how do I fix it?
thanks
Howie

Does your daggerboard wobble from side to side when pushed all the way down?

Hi Pete, thanks for the response, I'll have a look at it at the weekend and see how well it sits in the case.

By the way, I bit the bullet and ordered a new tiller from W & W, must remember it's not for sitting on!

For sitting on it is not. Waggling whilst sailing - it is!

Right then, I had a look at the board, I inserted it upside down and pushed it around a bit. the furry stuff looks in pretty good shape around the top and bottom of the case. With moderate force the board will move sideways about fifteen mil either way at the tip. this is just enough to open up a visible gap between the board and the furry stuff. The board is about twelve mil shorter than the case, this means that the tip will move aft about ten centimeters (as it obviously does from the wear marks on the board). with the board pushed aft there is a gap that will take a pencil comfortably at the leading edge.

I guess I've answered my own question, the board is a poor fit, question is what can I do about it??
I'd really appreciate some thoughts,
Howie

Try replacing the furry tape with a strip of Flotex carpet tile!
It is a perfect fit and free as a sample from any carpet store.
Got this tip from Colin Scott and it stopped virtually all the water coming up the case.
