Hi,
following the feedback from the poll on this website and Italian sailors I'm trying to fix the dates for EC2010 (with a preference for the first week of August)
After discussing with the preferred hosting club (Aquafresca, close to Malcesine), looks like their preferred date would be the last week of August (to avoid being in overlap or adjacent to other big events they are hosting)

From the information received so Far acquafresca may be a great venue:
Good wind (Garda, as Malcesine) and a camping 50 meters away from the SC .

We may have another option On Garda, in Campione, wonderful place for sailing, good friends at the sailing club, wich could result in having the event in the first week of August but with some logistic problems (No hotel/camping available at walking dinstance )

Please inform me asap if you see any problem with a venue in the last week of August, if not I'm going to confirm the regatta to Acquafresca SC.

Hi Marco

Sounds good to me.

I think it is important to have camping and or hotels within walking distance so we can enjoy the occational Peroni or 6.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Marco
As Rob says, camping close to the sailing is important, Last week in Aug should not be too much of a problem for us, But will need to check with my crew, Rachel. If it is week beginning 30 Aug then we will not be able to go, the week beginning 23 Aug probably OK.

How come only 5 people have voted on the date of the Eurocup? The voting poll is on the homepage and is visable when the user logs in.

Are people not logging in?

TO be honest we didn't have many replies on our poll as well...
appartently people prefer to discuss topics regarding sailing at the club in front of a beer or pizza and not with emails/polls...

anyhow,
the event organization is going on.
I'm waiting the final confirmation for this week-end, but the most probable venue date/place are :
ACQUAFRESCA, 25-28 August
this would put us in a sailing club close to Malcesine (same sailing area) and with 2 camping at walking distance.
In case this option fails we have some alternatives on Garda but with minor problems (more dinstance to camping/les parking/...)
I'll keep you informed.

I might invite a novice friend who live in munich to join in.. For me it will become some kind of funsailing...

by the way:
I don't find a button to make my vote.. so I do it just by this message.. (is it closed already, not working with firefox??)

Hi, nice to see that there is already interest in the event...
regarding the number of boats attending, if I have to give a number I would say 40 Iso's is the right target for this year EC.
I expect to have at least 20 boats from Italy, adding 5 from europe and 15 from uk...

I'll post the rates and contacts for the campings, I also try to get a discount for sailors...

bye

YC- www.ycacquafresca.net - approx 45.721881 N ,10.780163 E
You'll find plenty of information, some of them translated in English:
DOVE SIAMO -> explain how to reach the sailing club (italian and English)
PARTNERS -> List of hotels/campings with phone number & emails...
FOTO -> Some photos from other events.

Regarding Accomodation I'm trying to talk to the campings, in order to understand if we can get a special fee if we book/pay some places together in advance... if somebody can get an idea of how many people would be interested in such an option in uk I can do the same in italy and then I'd contact the camping.
-->> on the camping website (www.campingmonja.com/default.htm) you'll find the prices and it is stated that for groups > 20 people there is a discount of 20%
With the discounted price,
2 adults + car park + tent would be ~23 Euro (<-> 20 GBP)/day

We can get the same discount if we are less than 20, we may ask for a bit more if we are considerably more than 20...
They suggest Booking in June.

Attached Photo is taken from the camping, just to give an idea about the dinstance from the sailing club...
