Hi, You are the second person to show an interest, which is good a few more and we could have a really good weekend.

Sorry about the lack of date. 10th 11th April.

Please look at the page that Pete has put on the site about this years events, all the dates for the year are now published and confirmed.

Click "Events / Fixture List" in the nav bar for further details.

I've just copied and pasted Robs text and stuck that in the event details. Clicking on the venue name brings details on the location.

Hi,

Not sure if I will now be able to make it as I still need to do some work to the boat and my crew has now let me down for the weekend.

I hope to still turn up (maybe even with boat) on Saturday to mingle around and pick up tips.

You should bring the boat down anyway if poss. This way people can check it out and give you a few riging / tuning pointers. Also if a crew becomes available you can get out on the water.

That is a shame Rob. It is also amazing that people prefer to rig a boat that they cannot control, then spend the rest of the day swimming round it. I'm sure it is cheaper and easier to pop down to the local swimming baths for an hour...

Similar to having a nice flashy car but never knowing how to change out of 1st gear. Such a waste.

Hi Pete,

Sorry I didn't see your post in time. I havent been looking at sailing stuff over the winter. We really enjoyed the last training session at KGSC and learnt a lot. Is interest in the ISO dropping off? there don't seem to be many events this year.

Cheeers,

Mark

I don't think interest is dropping off or at least I hope it isn't because we are doing loads of work with Rooster and development, along with work on this website. Hands up we, the committee do not seem to keep you all informed of what is happening behind the scenes.

People do go into hibernation for the winter and forget to wake up I suppose.
I havent been looking at sailing stuff over the winter
.

The fixture list has plenty of events on it. There are not many class specific events this year as I personally feel, that people don't want to travel. Clubs will not host an event for 6 boats. So we have channelled our efforts into big events like the nationals and Eurocup. If you want events like this of kgsc - Saturday training and Sunday club racing, say so. We did try and arrage one but obviously even they aren't in demand for some reason.

It is your class, not yours specifically Mark, so say what you want folks!

I wasn't criticising you Pete, just realised I had missed the event and would have liked to attend again. My fault though for not looking at the forum for ages. We are still enjoying sailing the ISO but as you say we don't like travelling that much at the moment.
Whats happening with Rooster? have you got some exciting new developments in the pipeline?

No that's fine Mark. It's good to have some feedback from folk who sail ISO's, instead of us few on the committee talking about it and second guessing what people want - then finding we were wrong or sometimes we are right!

Rooster are developing new sails not planning to be released this year at least, creating a "How to pimp your ISO" video, A system where you click on a part of the ISO i.e. the rudder and you get a full parts list for all the bits that make up the rudder. Plus we have a commission based system where people clicking on the Rooster logo (bottom of left navbar), then purchase any stuff from Rooster we get a little bit back into the class.

Might have to look into doing a news release on the email for all registered on this site - not just members.
