Info regarding the Essex ISO Open:
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Following the Dinghy Show announcement that Rooster Sailing is now supporting the Class, Rooster has begun to develop new ISO sails. These need testing in anger before a formal proposal to adopt them, as well as visibility to the Class and the Press.
The Hyde sails were tested off the course by the Technical Committee. On this occasion the Committee has approved an application from the Technical Committee, to which Rooster have been co-opted as technical advisors, to test sail the prototype Rooster sails on the course.
Team Rooster will accordingly be competing in the event as an approved ISO under ISO Rule 4.3.

All those attending the Essex event - even those based at Essex YC, please log in and complete the registration form. You can then either pay the early payment entry fee of £25, or pay nothing at all.
You do NOT have to pre pay via PayPal or cheque, BUT doing so will save you £5.
Current registered members to the event can be found at the bottom of the event page by clicking the link under the "Registered Users:" heading.
Any problems with the pre payment / form filling, please let me know.

We will be there as well as it is our home club. We now have at least 8 boats attending including 4 visitors and there is 2 weeks to go.Last year we had 7 out of 8 local boats on the water so we expect a good turnout.

Hi All
The Essex event sound like it is going to be great, with ten boats already signed up and a good variety of skill levels, so every race should be able to compete. The entry fee also includes dinner so it is an absolute bargain.
Unfortunately Barry and I are now both waiting for more knee surgery which we expect to get in July, so we may make the last few events of the year.
Totally envious of all those who are able to attend and can't stress enough it is that people try to attend if you want the class to grow.
Have a great time and enjoy the racing.
Rob

Many thanks to EYC for a fantastic open meeting. We had a wide variety of conditions from force 1 to force 5, a fleet of 11 ISOs and some good close racing. Hopefully there will be some photos from the second day, we were flat out downwind. Mike, Bob and I also had the pleasure of sleeping overnight on a modified minesweeper!
The Rooster sails did well on their first open outing, with many positive comments from the fleet. In terms of cut they look to be very similar to the Hydes, but with reinforcement on the leech of the jib. They look fantastic, the styling gives the boat a very modern look.
Sorry to hear about your dog Pete, we'll see you at the next event.
Cheers, Mark.

Sounds like it was a good event. Looking forward to the report and results whoever has the job! (email them to me and I'll sort it).
Not good with the dog - or my leg! But I'll heal. Thanks Mark.
See you at the next event.

Thanks to Bob for the report. Not sure I would describe the race 2 win as telescopic, most of the fleet could see Bob's smile as he crossed the line!
Does anyone have the full set of pictures from the event ? Mike and I have a session booked to tune the Rooster rig & sails with Steve Cockerill and Mark Rushall on Tuesday, and some pics of the Roosters might give some pointers before the day. I can only see three pics online, apologies in advance if I am looking in the wrong place.
Cheers, Mark.
