New mast unwrapped and used at Lee On Solent SC for the nationals.
- No chainplates supplied (not sure if they are supposed to be with a fully rigged mast though) so borrowed a pair.
- Then when we went to offer the shrouds to the chainplates we found they were way too long, so had to borrow a pair of shrouds also!

Offered the new up to my old and pulled a little tension with rope to straighten them out:

Our old shrouds are usually on pin 4, but obviously there are some SLIGHT tolerances in manufacture so I would expect a brand new set of shrouds to be on pin 2 for the first sail, then possibly 3 or 4 when they are bedded in.

Also not the chainplate covers are larger on these shrouds compared to my old set. Don't know if that is also a mistake.

Rondar are on the case. I'll keep you informed.

Hi Pete,

I have been chatting with Steve at Rooster about the supply of spas from supper spas and he has added them to his list of parts on the ISO specific parts page. To stop this happening again maybe we should get 4 or 5 people to measure their shrouds and give the tolerances to Steve that way he can ensure that he is getting the right parts from Super spars.

Thanks

Rob
