Since the AGM, I've been playing and tweaking the site, nothing major, but I thought I would communicate them to you. New features include:
- Share on Facebook link (left hand nav bar).
If you like the page on the site, click this link and it will be published on your facebook page.
- RSS Feeds (left hand nav bar).
Subscribe to our feeds, then when a new article is posted, you will see it on your feed reader.
- Find us on Facebook Link (left hand nav bar).
Now I'm no facebook person, but this page was set up ages ago, and we seem to have 43 people subscribed to it. Are there any facebook geeks out there who would like to help or run the page? Let me know please.
- Affiliations (Left hand nav bar).
Affiliations links created - Rooster & Noble Marine.
We are not saying you
must buy from these people, but if you do, the ISO Class receives a commission for anything you buy from them
IF and
only IF you go to their site after clicking these links!
The Rooster images on the
"Where to Buy" Page, are also affiliate links, so clicking on them wil also earn the class money if you then purchase something from Rooster. Currently in discussions with a couple more companies for affiliation schemes.
- Google Analytics (behind the scenes stuff).
Simple tracking facility to see which parts of the site are viewed most, what browsers and screen resolutions you all use. Where users came from to get to this site. All helps in marketing the ISO site.
- Photo Gallery.
Created another section in the photo gallery for the technical department to use. Currently we have pics of the new prototype Rooster sails and the in development new daggerboard and cassette home built by John Gill (1003 Tinky Winky).
ISO Help Guides - reworded.
I wasn't sure about the term "ISO Help Guides" due to the content, so re-worded to "ISO Reference Library". I think I'm starting to get a bit picky now. Probably pointless tweak and most probably confused you all.
That's about it for now.
Any site related feedback ie:
- things not working;
- features you would like on the site to make it even better;
- new articles you would like to write for the site;
- pics you have of your tweaks;
please step forward and speak up. If it doesn't work, then the site looks bad! (It works perfect for my computer and browser settings, maybe it doesn't for yours though).
